Brief: Fabricate and brand a wooden door and framework for mobile canteen

Process: Our good customer Custom and Source enlisted Archers to create an unusual natural-looking sign for their client Fry Family Food Co. They planned to convert a horse-box into a mobile canteen to sell their natural products at exhibitions and events throughout the summer. Our spec was an 18mm ply panel with good grain, with the company logo blowtorched onto the surface. Early tests went well and we created 2m aluminium stencils. Using a standard blowtorch on the sample runs proved difficult so we adjusted the plan and set up an acrylic flame polisher which gave a much gentler finish using a finer flame.

Result: A unique and memorable natural-looking door sign displaying the company brand
